Day 04: BOROVOE

Borovoe is famous since the beginning of the 20th century, as a climatic resort, attracting tourists not only from all over Kazakhstan, but also from the CIS countries. There are many health resorts of various types, equipped with innovative equipment: sanatoriums, sports and recreation facilities, boarding houses, rest homes and dispensaries. To treat various health problems, there are all the necessary natural factors. This is therapeutic mud, and mineral water from healing springs, and useful koumiss. Day 06: KOKTOBE (HIGHEST MOUNTAIN POINT of ALMATY) & CITY TOUR OF ALMATY

10:30 – 13:00: Almaty.

Sightseeing tour starts in the central part of Almaty. You will know more about history and development if the southern capital of Kazakhstan and see its major attractions: Palace of President, Republic Square & monument of independence, Astana Square, Abai Square & Republic palace. The tour will continue in one of the oldest Almaty parks – Panfilov park, where you will see of the unique wooden buildings in the world – Zenkov cathedral and also visit the memorial of Glory & eternal flame, dedicated to the memory of the fighters who died for freedom & independence of the country.

13:00-14:00 – Lunch

Arrive at the Kok-Tobe gondola station.

Riding to the KOKTOBE peak (1,6 km /6 minutes) and enjoying spectacular view in panorama window cabins.

KOK-TOBE 1100m hill on the city southeast edge is crowned by a 372m-high TV tower visible from far & wide, and affords great views over the city & the mountains, plus an assortment of attractions at the top.

At the top you’ll find YURT (round ) restaurant and panorama city view restaurant, crafts shops, a roller-coaster, a mini-zoo, a children’s play ground – and life sized bronze statues of the Four Beatles, placed here on the initiative of local fans in 2007. (The work of Almaty sculptor Eduard Kazaryn, this is claimed to the world’s only monument showing all the Fabulous Four together. You can sit beside a guitar-strumming John on the bench.)

Day 07: SHYMBULAK SKI RESORT/MEDEU Mountain tour

10:30 - Depart from hotel. Riding to the SHYMBULAK SKI Resort and enjoying spectacular view in panorama window cabins.

Proceed on an excursion to the beautiful mountain resort of Shymbulak Ski resort including Gondola tickets to level 3.

Gondola cars from “Medeu” to the base of Shymbulak are 2260 m above the sea level. This Gondola is the world’s third-longest Gondola with a length of 4.5 KM. The Ski resort has six lifts that service the mountains. The lift system will take you to Talgar pass where you are 3180 m above sea level. A vertical rise of 920 m. The majestic Mountain View with snowy slopes and evergreen Tien Shan are spectacular and must be seen.

SHYMBULAK SKI RESORT is located in the beautiful Ili Alatau Mountain at 2260 m above sea level. It is 25 Km from the city centre of Almaty city and has an average temperature of +25C in the summer.

But what you will love most is an atmosphere, meeting high quality standards, with international restraints, and jet set. Here you have chance drinking tea with local instagram divas or famous people in KZ. Located in the resort is a hotel, restaurants, café and coffee shop with a variety of cuisine to suit all taste.

Day 08: TURGEN WATERFALLS

10:00 – 12:00 Transfer to Turgen Waterfalls

This is famous for its coniferous and mixed forests, alpine meadows, lakes and springs, medicinal herbs and berries. During the tour you will see the statue of the Golden Man and visit the famous waterfall. Turgen waterfalls are one of the most famous and interesting trips. During the excursion to the picturesque waterfall "Bear", which falls from a height of 30 meters, you will visit the ostrich farm, where you can take pictures with ostriches, try this outlandish and very unusual meat. After visiting the waterfall, you will visit the ponds of trout farming, where you can fish. Caught fish immediately cooks a professional cook. Also you will visit the historical and ethnographic museum in the open air ("the holy spring of eternal youth and beauty", the monument to the Kazakh batyr, the mock-up of the burial vault of the Saka burial mound, the Kazakh yurt).

Day 09: TURKESTAN BUS TOUR

Tours to Turkestan is an immersion in the history of the ancient city, whose age is 1500 years. Here the famous Khoja Ahmed Yassawi was born and his mausoleum created, it's no wonder that the main monument of Turkestan bears his name. Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yassawi, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, many tourists come to it every year. This is a holy place, and in ancient times it was believed that three times his visit is equated with pilgrims to Mecca.

16:00 – Check-out and transfer to a gathering point to meet with your guide. Departure from Almaty at 17:00.

Day 10: TARAZ

03:00 - Excursion to Taraz (Visit to the mausoleum, Aisha-Bibi and Babaj Khatun).

12:00 - Otrar Complex - Al-Farabi Museum, excavations at the settlement of Otrar, Shaulder village - Arystan-Bab mausoleum.

Day 11

10:00-12:00 - Arrival in Almaty.

Day 13: CHARYN CANYON

The Charyn Canyon is located in the Charyn National Park about 215km east of Almaty and approximately a 3 hour drive via the A 351 and A 352. The Canyon has been described as the Grand Canyon’s little brother. This is not to detract from the sheer splendor of the canyon itself. The vista of dramatic erosion made by the river Charyn below and the elements has created a dramatic and impressive landscape.

The Canyon itself is approximately 150 km long, and, in places up to 300 meters deep.

One area of particular interest, is an area of 2km called the Valley of Castles, due to the pillars and rock formations forming imposing, almost manmade structures.

The story of the Canyon is that it was formed about 3 million years ago as the land around the canyon started to rise. A very large lake existed in the area around the top of the canyon and it started to empty. Over the next million years the canyon was formed by the Charyn river. Approximately 2 million years ago a large earthquake disturbed the flow of the river by blocking it with a land-slip. The visitor part of the canyon then has suffered from the elements forming the rock sculptures. The Charyn River still flows at the bottom of the canyon forming the next great canyon. Because the area used to be a large inland sea, the deposits revealed on the sides of the canyon are relatively soft and are a geologists dream, revealing hundreds of millions of years of the earth’s history at this location.

Day 14: BIG ALMATY LAKE

15:30 – 19:00 – Tour to Big Almaty Lake

The Lake is located 28.5km south of Almaty up a gorge of the Bolshaya Almatinka River, 2,511m above sea level. The lake is within the Alatau – Eliy National park and both the Gorge and the lake are an attraction for visitors using Almaty as their base. The lake is used for both hydro electric power, and the water supply for the city, but this does not detract from the magnificent mountain scenery.

The mountains, Sovetov to the southeast, Ozyorny to the south and Turist to the southwest form a backdrop on all sides to the lake, producing some spectacular reflections, changing colour throughout the seasons. All three mountains are around the 4,000 metres high, with a glacial water running down towards the lake.

The lake itself is about 1km wide and 1.6 km long, with a depth of about 40mtrs. It can be accessed by road or by foot, although a bus ride to the beginning of the assent, places you directly into the scenic area.
